One Makerspace Does Not Fit All

Session Description:
Makerspaces can encompass a variety of physical space, equipment, and patron usage. The panel of Oklahoma librarians will offer a sampling of various Makerspaces which will show one size does not fit all when creating a Makerspace. The group will present how they offer Maker opportunities in their communities and what they have learned from the experience. Projects will range from a dedicated physical space with substantial funds to mobile options on a smaller scale.

Leanne CheekLeanne Cheek is the Teen Selector/Coordinator for the Pioneer Library System.  She earned her Master of Library and Information Studies in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma. Leanne has served as the chair for the OLA Intellectual Freedom Committee for the past three years and been a member of PLD for 7 years. Leanne has held multiple positions in the library world and is constantly looking for ways to advance her profession by advocating and supporting library associations.

Gloria CumpstonGloria Cumpston is the Teen Librarian at Enid Public Library. She is a member of CATS and formerly served on the High School Sequoyah team. She loves to read YA fiction, and when she's not reading...that doesn't happen.

Dana TaylorDana Taylor is the adult and Teen Librarian at Tecumseh Public Library. She is also on the High School Sequoyah Reading team. When not reading you can find Dana working on Arts and Crafts or busy with one of her three children or her granddaughter.

Elizabeth MurrayElizabeth Murray is the Children’s Librarian at Stillwater Public Library and current Chair of CATS. She loves her babies and toddlers in storytimes but secretly prefers to read from YA. When she is not reading you can find her outside running or biking.
