OLA 2020 Annual Conference FAQ for Registrants

Why did we transition to a virtual conference rather than sticking with an in-person July conference?

As the global pandemic has developed, the Executive Board determined that the wisest and most ethical way to provide a conference experience was to offer a virtual conference rather than gathering such a large group. We appreciate everyone’s willingness to remain positive and supportive as OLA continues to work on providing quality professional development to our members.

Will my registration automatically be switched over to the virtual conference?

Yes! If you were registered for the conference in July, you are automatically registered for the virtual conference.

I haven’t registered yet - can I register now?

Yes! Please click here to register for the virtual conference. Registration is open through July 18.

Will CEUs be available for the virtual conference?

We are currently working with the Oklahoma Department of Libraries to determine how CEUs will be awarded.

What is the cancelation/refund policy?

All registration cancellations and refund requests for the 2020 Oklahoma Library Association Annual Conference, including preconferences, must be made in writing to ola@amigos.org by Tuesday, June 30, 2020. After June 30, 2020, no requests for refunds will be accepted and no exceptions will be made to the policy.

Conference is now in a different fiscal year. How can I talk to my institution about the best way to pay?

Many institutions will elect to leave the expenses encumbered in this fiscal year. If this is not possible, contact ola@amigos.org for payment options.

What about my hotel room?

The Regency Hyatt has canceled all room registrations in our room block for our April date using the OLA conference code (either government rate or regular conference rate). If you booked a room outside our room block for either April or July, or if you have any other questions regarding your room booking, please contact the Regency Hyatt directly at (918) 234-1234.

What will the schedule be?

We are currently working with speakers to update the conference schedule; a full schedule will be released as soon as possible.

When will scholarships be granted?

Scholarship checks will be awarded in April. All scholarship recipients will be recognized at the virtual conference in July.
